The BBB Approach

CONNECT (Brain): relational safety and neuroaffirming understanding

Support in this stage may include:

  • Feeling genuinely understood by someone with lived neurodivergent experience

  • Reducing shame around ADHD/Autism traits

  • Exploring masking and the cost of long-term camouflaging

  • Building psychological safety and trust

  • Understanding how your brain works (executive function, dopamine, sensory processing, emotional regulation)

  • Unpacking internalised stigma or “I’m lazy/broken” narratives

  • Creating a space where you don’t need to perform or over-explain yourself

  • Beginning to reconnect with parts of yourself you’ve suppressed

IDENTIFY (Body): Understanding patterns, needs, and barriers, integrating mind and body

This is the investigative, integrative stage. Not just labels, but patterns

Support in this stage may include:

  • Understanding how neurodivergence uniquely impacts you

  • Identifying executive function challenges (planning, prioritising, task initiation, time blindness)

  • Exploring motivation/procrastination cycles

  • Recognising sensory sensitivities and environmental triggers

  • Mapping burnout patterns (especially AuDHD burnout)

  • Nervous system regulation and somatic practices

  • Sleep hygiene and circadian rhythm support

  • Movement as regulation rather than punishment

  • Energy management and pacing (particularly with chronic fatigue/POTS)

  • Exploring comorbidities (anxiety, depression, PCOS, chronic illness, etc.)

BLOOM (Outcome): Integration, confidence, and sustainable change

Where practical systems meet identity growth. Outcomes often include:

  • Increased self-confidence, self-trust and self-esteem

  • Stronger sense of identity beyond diagnosis

  • A personalised “toolkit” for managing ADHD/Autism

  • Reduced shame and self-criticism, and greater emotional regulation

  • Increased productivity without burnout

  • Better balance between work/study and life

  • Reduced anxiety through nervous system regulation

  • A sense of alignment between mind and body

  • Accessing creative strengths and unique thinking patterns

  • Moving from survival mode to growth mode

  • Self-actualisation and living in alignment with your potential
